Privacy Policy

The short version

StepHub is built so detailed movement and health information stays under your control. We do not sell personal information, run advertising, use cross-app tracking, or include third-party behavioral analytics.

Health and activity information

With your permission, StepHub reads Apple Health data such as steps, distance, workouts, active energy and time, flights, heart rate, sleep, walking speed, and related trends. When you record a workout, StepHub saves it locally and may write a copy to Apple Health. If that write is denied or fails, the local workout remains available with a retry state.

Detailed HealthKit samples, historical activity, workout metrics, heart rate, sleep, mood, goals, pace, calories, routes, and personal records are processed on your device. They are not uploaded to Community. Protected current-day summaries may be shared with StepHub’s own widgets and paired Apple Watch.

Location and workout routes

Location is requested for local weather context and user-started outdoor workouts. Background location may continue only while an active workout is being recorded. Routes are stored locally and exported only when you choose. They are not shared through Community.

Community

Community is optional, invite-only, intended for adults 18 and older, and uses your iCloud account. It stores the alias you choose, space and membership information, posts, comments, reactions, and identifiers needed for authorship, access, blocking, reporting, and deletion. Apple CloudKit sharing manages invitations and participants.

Community never automatically shares steps, Health information, workout metrics, routes, location, sleep, or mood. Information you intentionally type into a post becomes part of that post.

A report may store its reason, optional detail, source identifiers, reporter and reported-author identifiers, and a snapshot of reported text. Reports are restricted to moderation operations and are not visible to Community members.

Friends Ranking

Friends Ranking is disabled at launch. If it becomes available, it will require separate account consent and separate opt-in before any current-day step total is published. StepHub will update this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures before enabling it.

Purchases

Apple processes subscriptions and displays the live price, renewal period, and any eligible trial before confirmation. StepHub reads Apple-signed entitlement and offer information to unlock Premium. We do not receive payment-card details.

Notifications, widgets, and Apple Watch

Notifications are optional. A limited protected current-day summary—such as steps, goal, distance, streak, and update time—may be shared with StepHub’s widgets and paired Apple Watch using Apple-provided mechanisms.

Service providers and connection data

Apple provides HealthKit, CloudKit, Sign in with Apple, StoreKit, WeatherKit, Maps, notifications, and related platform services under Apple’s terms and privacy policies. Network services necessarily receive connection information such as an IP address and user agent for security and delivery. StepHub does not use this information for advertising or tracking.

Your choices and deletion

You can change Health, Location, Notification, and iCloud permissions in system Settings; export or delete local app records; delete authored Community content; leave or delete spaces you control; block members; and request access, correction, or deletion by contacting us.

Removing StepHub deletes its local app container subject to Apple platform behavior. Apple Health records remain under your control in the Health app. If you want cloud Community content removed, use StepHub’s in-app deletion control before removing the app or contact support.

Retention and security

Local information remains until you delete it or the app. Community information remains until you or a space owner deletes it, a share is revoked, or the service removes it. Safety reports are normally deleted or anonymized within 90 days after a case closes unless a longer period is reasonably needed for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or dispute resolution.

StepHub uses Apple platform security, encrypted transport, protected local files, invite-only sharing, and least-privilege access. No system can guarantee absolute security; avoid posting sensitive health, location, contact, or financial information in Community text.

Age and medical disclaimer

StepHub is intended for people 18 and older. It is a general fitness product, not a medical device, and does not diagnose or treat conditions.
